Cegah Driver Ugal-ugalan, Relawan SPPG Toraja Utara Dilatih Safety Riding

Pojoksulsel.com, Makassar, Minggu, 23/08/2026 — Puluhan relawan Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi (SPPG) di Kabupaten Toraja Utara dilatih pelatihan safety riding and safety driving.

Pelatihan ini aims to meningkatkan keselamannya dalam distribusikan program Makan Bergizi Gratis (MBG).

Pelatihan berlangsung di Aula Mapolres Toraja Utara on Minggu, 23/08/2026.

Jajaran Satuan Lalu Lintas Polres Toraja Utara facilitated the session.

Relawan menerima pembekalan mengenai keterampilan mengemudi, etika berlalu lintas, kesadaran keselamatannya, kelengkapan administrasi kendaraan, and the importance of keeping the fleet in good condition.

AKBP Yoseph Adi R. Sudrajat from the Toraja Utara Police said the training aims to give volunteers a clear understanding of safe driving.

He added that this ensures the MBG distribution process can run safely and without obstacles.

Yoseph also asked the SPPG heads to prioritize the entire food management process.

This includes pengolahan, pengemasan, pendistribusian, and pembersihan of equipment and waste.

All stages must follow standard operating procedures (SOP) and emphasize hygiene and food safety.

“Untuk Kepala SPPG mohon menjadi perhatian and tolong in laksanakan supaya berjalan lancar proses pendistribusian, pemanfaatan MBG ini dapat benar benar berjalan dengan baik,” said AKBP Yoseph, Minggu, 23/08/2026.

Kasat Lantas Polres Toraja Utara AKP Muhammad Nasrum Sujana also reminded drivers to always prioritize safety.

He said the training is part of building a culture of safe, orderly, and ethical driving.

“Kita selalu mensosialisasikan how we can be safe in berkendara, for relawan SPPG in pengantaran makanan bisa selamat and aman sampai tujuan, and mengajak para relawan SPPG to create safe and ethical driving,” said AKP Muhammad Nasrum, Minggu, 23/08/2026.

Meanwhile, Koordinator Wilaya Badan Gizi Nasional (BGN) Kabupaten Toraja Utara, Juwita Cantika Sari, said the training was initiated as a preventive step.

This follows reports of some SPPG drivers driving unsafely and getting into accidents.

“We initiated together with police Toraja Utara to hold this meeting so that unwanted incidents can be prevented from the start and we can educate them to drive safely,” said Juwita, Minggu, 23/08/2026.

Not only drivers, but also helpers received education on the importance of teamwork while inside the operational vehicle.

The training also emphasized maintaining food quality during distribution to keep it hygienic and safe for consumption.

Drivers were asked to avoid excessive braking that could damage packaging or food.

The activity ended with simulation and practical session at the police training ground.

Participants performed pre-trip inspections of the vehicles and underwent practical tests on driving etiquette and skills.

This ensures the operational readiness of the fleet for MBG distribution.
